Sean’s brief was concise yet clear: he needed an intro that was easily editible so we had flexibility of cropping intros and outros based on the length of his voiceovers and obviously something that matched his podcast brand.wn for editing intros and outros.
So the challenge was.. how to make it repetitive, yet engaging and inspired by his direction and examples from his network, I set about finding the perfect genre.
My musical pursuits were a secret to everyone until a recent team onsite, I was prompted to show my latest creative endeavor ‘Lost in space’.
Sean, somewhat impressed by my passion, reached out via Teams shortly after, commissioning an intro for his podcast.
Executing this is difficult… Repetition can be BORING if not done right
What’s a genre that has repetitive beats and melodies that is engaging and widely enjoyed – for me, that’s electronic dance music. But finding a style would that matched the podcast brand would be tricky.
Acid jazz just didn’t match where Sean was taking the brand of the podcast. We needed something modern and fresh.
Reflecting on the collaboration, I’m reminded of the power of creative synergy. Sean’s trust in my abilities, coupled with his open communication and appreciation of the process, fostered and environment where I was happy to show even the variations I wasn’t loving.
It’s a testament to the creative magic that happens when talents converge.
